Product Description

Graphite coke

Petroleum coke is the black solid coke produced by cracking and coking the vacuum residue of petroleum at 500 ~ 550ºC in a coking device. Its appearance is black or dark gray honeycomb structure, the pores in the coke block are mostly oval, and each other through. It is generally considered to be amorphous carbon; Or a highly aromatized polymer carbide, containing tiny graphite crystals of the needle or granular structure of the carbon body.

Petroleum coke is an important carbon material, which has the characteristics of high carbon fixation content, high calorific value, high strength, high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.

Due to its unique physical and chemical properties, petroleum coke has a wide range of applications in many fields.

Applications

(1) Needle coke: It has a distinct needle-like structure and fibrous texture, mainly used as high-power and ultra-high-power graphite electrodes in steelmaking. The production of needle coke has strict quality requirements concerning sulfur content, ash content, volatile matter, and bulk density, so there are special requirements for both the production process and raw materials.

(2) Sponge coke: It has high chemical activity and low impurity content, primarily used in the aluminum industry and in the manufacture of carbon products.

(3) Pellet coke or spherical coke: It is spherical in shape, with a diameter of 0.6-30mm, and is generally produced from high-sulfur, high-asphaltene residue oil, primarily used as industrial fuels for power generation and cement.
