Foundry Coke grades are primarily categorized by their intended use and industry standards. The following are the main classification criteria:
1. Foundry Coke
The particle size range is 30-80mm. It is primarily used in the foundry industry, where a larger particle size is required to support the charge structure.
2. Blast Furnace Coke
a. Large Blast Furnaces (1000-4000 m³): The recommended particle size is 40-60mm, suitable for applications requiring high air permeability.
b. Small and Medium-Sized Blast Furnaces: A particle size of 25-40mm is commonly used, balancing air permeability and cost-effectiveness.
3. Chemical and Metallurgical Coke
a. Chemical Coke: The particle size is typically less than 25mm and is used for applications such as pipe filling.
b. Metallurgical Coke: The ash content must be controlled between 11% and 14%, and the particle size is generally between 10-25mm. Some fine coke <10mm is required for sintering.
