Graphite blocks possess excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, lubricity and chemical stability, and are widely used:
- Metallurgical industry: As a refractory material, such as graphite crucibles, it can withstand high temperatures and has good chemical stability. During the metal melting process, it does not react chemically with the metal, ensuring the quality of the metal; it is used to make the inner lining of continuous casting molds, taking advantage of its excellent thermal conductivity and lubricity, allowing the molten steel to cool uniformly and form, reducing the friction between the cast billet and the mold wall, and improving the quality and production efficiency of the cast billet.
- Chemical industry: As a corrosion-resistant material, it is used to make equipment components such as reaction tanks, pipelines, and valves. Graphite blocks can resist the corrosion of various strong acids, strong bases, and organic solvents; it is also used to make heat exchangers, with its excellent thermal conductivity enabling efficient heat transfer and meeting the heat exchange requirements in chemical production.
- Electronic industry: It is an important material for making electrodes. For example, in electrical discharge machining, graphite electrodes have good electrical conductivity, high-temperature resistance, and processing performance, allowing precise processing of workpieces; in lithium battery production, natural graphite blocks, after processing, can be used as negative electrode materials to store and release electrical energy.
